No. This tool uses browser-side WebAssembly to decode and re-encode audio. Both the original file and compressed result exist only on your device.

Which input and output formats are supported?

Can read common audio files supported by FFmpeg, such as MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, AAC, OGG, OPUS, WMA, and AIFF; currently can output MP3, M4A, and OPUS.

How should I choose the audio bitrate?

Podcasts, meetings, and voice notes typically use 48–96 kbps; daily music sharing works well at 128 kbps; for more musical detail, we recommend 192 kbps or higher.

How to Make Files Smaller?

Prioritize lowering the bitrate, then reduce the sample rate to 22.05 or 32 kHz. For pure voice, you can also choose mono. Lower parameters mean smaller files, but increased sound quality loss.

Why Does the Estimated Size Differ from the Actual Result?

Estimated size is calculated based on audio duration and target bitrate. Minor differences may occur due to container information, encoder behavior, and source file structure; the actual downloaded file size prevails.

Why Does the File Get Larger After Compression?

If your source file is already encoded at a low bitrate and you set a higher output bitrate, re-encoding may actually increase the file size. In that case, lower the bitrate or choose a more efficient OPUS format.

Can it achieve significant compression without any loss?

Usually not. Converting WAV to FLAC can achieve lossless size reduction, but significantly shrinking already compressed formats like MP3 and AAC typically requires lowering the bitrate and accepting some quality loss.

Can I compress audio on my mobile device?

Yes, but browser-side conversion uses more memory and battery. When processing large files, keep the page in the foreground and prioritize using a newer, more powerful device.
