Suno AI Comprehensive Guide 4: How Parameters Actually Affect Output

Understanding Lyrics, Style, Title, Weirdness, and Style Influence sliders in Suno V5. Practical parameter combinations for different scenarios.

This is Chapter 4 of the Suno AI Comprehensive Guide. Let’s understand what each parameter does and how to combine them.

Keywords: suno tutorial, suno prompts, suno usage, Suno parameters, V5 settings

4.1 Lyrics Field

Two modes:

  • Custom: You write the lyrics
  • Instrumental: Generates music without vocals

Even in Instrumental mode, structure tags still work:

[Intro]

[Main Theme]

[Build]

[Climax]

[Outro]

4.2 Style of Music

This is where your prompt goes. ~200 character limit (V5 relaxed it slightly). Keep it concise.

4.3 Title

Mainly for organizing your library. It doesn’t reliably affect generation. Focus on Style, structure, and post-editing (Crop/Extend/Replace) for musical control.

4.4 V5 New Parameters

Weirdness (0-100%)

Controls how “out there” the result is — not “better,” just more or less conventional.

RangeBehavior
0-30%Safe, predictable, mainstream-friendly
40-60%Balanced — good starting point
70%+Experimental, surprising (or messy)

Practical tips:

  • Want a stable, catchy chorus? Keep Weirdness low (35-50%)
  • Want a fresh bridge/interlude? Bump it up +10-20%, don’t max it out

Style Influence (Loose → Strong)

Controls how strictly Suno follows your Style prompt.

RangeBehavior
0-40%Loose — AI takes more liberties
45-65%Moderate — balanced creativity
70-90%Strict — faithful to your prompt, but may sound formulaic
